Almost the definition of an aquatic, L’Eau d’Issey was inspired by Miyake’s Japanese love for tranquil ponds and dislike of vulgar, potent powerhouse fragrances. Thus acclaimed perfumer Jacques Cavallier composed a light halo of a scent: Limpid, humid, with a fresh opening with yuzu (an unusual Japanese citrus fruit) segueing into a lovely heart of spice (both nutmeg and the dewy-smelling water lilly flower) on a soft base of woody vetiver and musks.
