GUERLAIN FRAGRANCES
Thierry Wasser has been the new perfumer at Maison Guerlain since June 2008. A leading figure in the contemporary perfume industry, Thierry Wasser is a free spirit with wide-ranging interests and a healthy sense of humour who is open to international influences. His vocation as a perfumer was initially driven by a particular sensitivity to symphonic music and orchestral chords. Thierry then developed his sense of smell by collecting herbs which he dried in the Swiss countryside where he grew up. He went on to create some unusual combinations and obtained a vocational training certificate in botany. After attending the Givaudan Perfumery School, he joined Firmenich in 1993 and, after an initial nine-year stay in New York, he returned to Paris in 2002. With his creation of Iris Ganache or Quand vient la pluie, Thierry Wasser has been continuing Guerlain’s spiritual and olfactory heritage since 2007.
